Health Point Now Tip - Caramelizing Onions

Yes , I know what you are thinking!!. Caramelizing onions takes forever :(

Here, I give you some easy tips which I learned from experience.

1. How you cut is very important.

If you want the onions to caramalize quickly, make sure you cut it very thin.

2. Add a pinch of Salt.

Yes. The science behind it is that, salt will take out the water from the onions quickly and hence will help you reduce the time it takes to caramelize .

3. Oil should be hot.

Make sure your oil is hot before you put the sliced onions.

For most Indian dishes, we just need to wait till the sliced onions turns golden colour. But for Biriyanis, the more caramelized the onion is, the more tastier your Biriyani will become.
